Star Wars: Episode III - Revenge of the Sith (2005)
Star Wars: Episode III - Revenge of the Sith (2005)
Our company rented out theaters for us to all go see the final Star Wars which is very cool except I haven’t been up at nine in the morning in years! Mmmm…popcorn for breakfast!
This was definately worth seeing! Early on R2D2 pulls the old oil slick ignited by tiny booster rockets trick on some unsuspecting droids. R2 busts out his built-in Tazer gun from time to time and is generally oddly endearing for a robot.
The droids all seem to have much more personality and senses of humor, and one of them when we first see C3PO looks hot in a mini-skirt but I’ll have to confirm on the DVD since she is only shown for a second.
Speaking of hot, there is some nice cleavage in this one that are always very brief, conselor escort on the stairs, and even a Jedi night, think I saw a belly ring. Can never get enough exposed midriffs alien or not.
The special effects are excellent as to be expected from the ILM crew. One trooper Obi Wan talks to was a very convincing CGI pushing us closer to virtual actors.
Much of the space battles do have some annoyinng physics like crippled ships falling with no visible gravity source and things catching on fire or blowing up. Fine, I’ll bow to suspension of disbelief paradigm and the detail on all the technology is impressive except the controls of the Emperial Detroyer which they probably were trying to duplicate the contros to be seen in the same destryoers in earlier the Stars Wars (Episode 4 wil always be Star Wars to me). Just seemed so obvious when you compare it to the curved, translucent control panels of General Grevious’s first ship that Anakin meteors into a planet below.
Finally, who in their right mind can’t possibly want to wield a light saber? Mine would be purple and it would be very useful in some of my meetings. A samarai sword is lethal but the light saber is so much faster, lighter, cauterizes the wound to reduce the mess, and cuts through metal.
Although I always use the force, my new guiding principle has become “What Would Yoda Do?”
